As a 9th generation
New Orleanian, our founder,

ANDREW MARCUS, knows that our region, once the most critical and strategic series of ports in the country, has not kept up with a global, ever-changing economy. Bringing advanced manufacturing, assembly, and container port logistics back to our region requires an updated building stock for businesses to grow into locally. It is this passion and understanding that drove him to create Agile Coast. By developing the foundations upon which our region’s economy will grow, Agile Coast strives to be an economic driver for all who call Southern Louisiana home.

1905

Gustav Katz and Sydney Besthoff open the first Katz & Besthoff Pharmacy on Canal Street in New Orleans.

1950s-1990’s

With Sydney Besthoff III at the helm of the company, K&B grows into a beloved regional chain with 187 stores across 6 states, employing 4,800 people.

1997

Rite Aid purchases the K&B chain, except the Besthoff family maintains ownership of corporately owned real estate. The Property Management Group of K&B incorporates as PMG Leasing to manage and grow their property holdings.

Early 2000’s

PMG Leasing refocuses attention from retail properties to industrial properties and reaches over 1 million square feet of commercial property.

2017

PMG Leasing surpasses 2 million square feet of commercial property, with nearly all of the growth coming in their industrial division.

2024-Present

Andrew Marcus forms Agile Coast to accelerate the growth of our regional industrial footprint, with the goals of modernizing the industrial backbone upon which the rest of the regional economy can thrive.
